about selfctrl

selfctrl’s founder, Ian, grew up playing video games. In college, playing video games turned into an addiction and had many negative effects on his life. Years removed from that, and having quit video games entirely, selfctrl was born out of a desire to help others find freedom from video game addiction and build self-control around their technology consumption.

Ian’s redemption story was centered around a relationship with Jesus Christ and dethroning the idol that video games were in his life. He shares his story on this site along with research and tools for individuals and parents looking for help to manage their technology consumption.
